DPS Champa Students’ Memorable Educational Tour to Kanha–Kisli Tiger Reserve.

Delhi Public School, Janjgir–Champa organized a three-day educational tour to Kanha National Park and the Kanha–Kisli Tiger Reserve in Madhya Pradesh to support students’ all-round development and to build sensitivity towards nature conservation. A total of 64 students from Classes 5 to 12 participated enthusiastically, accompanied by the School Management Committee President Shri Rajkishor Devangan, Principal Mrs. Kalpana Singh, and teachers Lokesh Goyal, Mrs. Renu, Devangan Sahu, and Shivshankar Baret as guides.
The students stayed at Law Fawn Resort near the Mukki Gate, prepared for the jungle safari, and early the next morning entered the vast forest area of Kanha National Park, spread over about 12 km. During the safari, they observed wildlife such as deer, sambar, bison, monkeys, barasingha, spotted deer (chital), langurs, peacocks, jackals, wild boars, and also saw the Royal Bengal Tiger in its natural habitat.
The lush greenery, golden sunlight, cool morning breeze, birdsong, and the scenic beauty of the forest left the students mesmerized. After the day’s exciting journey, the evening was filled with folk dance, music, and vibrant colors, creating a joyful atmosphere.
On the final leg of the tour, students visited the famous “Mosaic Temple” at Kawardha, often compared to Khajuraho, and explored Jain sculptures, architecture, and an archaeological museum, enriching their historical knowledge. Overall, the three-day tour became a unique confluence of learning, enjoyment, and experience—promoting not only exposure to the जंगल (forest) but also appreciation for art, culture, wildlife, and heritage.
Shri Rajkishor Devangan appreciated the successful programme and stated that such educational tours take children beyond textbooks and connect them with the real world of learning, while Kanha’s greenery gave students a living message of environmental conservation.
