Bilingualism is an incredible gift for a child. It goes just beyond learning another language. It broadens the mental development, thought patterns and world perspective.

to celebrate these unique features of our country, the Bhasha Sangam initiative under the “Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat” ushers in a programme for schools and educational institutions to provide multilingual exposure to students in Indian languages listed in Schedule VIII of the Constitution of India. The learning of language, as we know, is fundamental to all learning and harmonious development of young children into citizens of a country. Learning many languages in school and in society is common in our country and almost all Indians are multilinguals. The multilingual characteristics of the country is reflected in school education as well. The school curriculum advocates learning of many languages. To flourish this thought, DPS-JC has also started the activity of Bhasha Sangam from 08th to 10th August, 2022 for the students. Bhasha Sangam is yet another effort in moving towards achieving the true goal of education and also realizing the vision of the Indian Constitution. This programme of Bhasha Sangam is taken in all seriousness and implemented in schools to achieve the goals of education. Every month our students take part in this activity by enacting or by showing the culture of different states. DPS-JC started the activity from its own state i.e.Chhattishgarh and successfully presented the language and its culture. This contains five commonly used simple sentences in all the 22 languages. The sentences are spoken and practised in the school assembly and in the classroom. In the morning assembly, the students are asked to repeat the sentences. The main goal of this activity is to introduce students to all the 22 Indian Language of Schedule VIII of the Constitution of India and to enhance linguistic tolerance and respect, and promote national integration.
