“The greatest leader is not necessarily the one who does the greatest things. He is the one who gets the people to do the greatest things.”

Students get their first lesson in leadership from school where they serve as Captains, Prefects and more. Keeping the rich tradition of empowering its students with the means to become successful leaders, DPS-JC organised its 12th Investiture Ceremony on 30th July, 2023. The solemn occasion was graced by the Chief Guest, Shri Vijay Agrawal, SP, Dist. Janjgir-Champa and Guest of Honour, Mr. Rajkishore Dewangan, President of DPS-JC. With this invincible spirit resonating in our hearts the students of our school laid down the red carpet and welcomed their new leaders, the Student Council of 2022. After the lighting of lamp, the Choir sang a melodious and motivational song perfectly suiting the program. The Chief Guest inspired and encouraged the elected leaders to be dutiful and responsible in his address to the gathering. He congratulated the newly elected Student Council members for their preparedness to take responsibility. The school prefectorial board was formed through different exam held in the school and the whole process took one week. The elected students were investitured by the Principal of DPS-JC, Mrs. Kalpana Singh. The pinning of badges to all the elected students was done by the Chief Guest which was followed by the march past by the Head Boy, Head Girl, Sports Secretary, Cultural Secretary and all the House Prefects. It was a spectacular event that set the mood for the event. The event majestically culminated with our leaders taking an oath to facilitate, envision and lead their flock before assuming their duties. A true leader has the confidence to stand alone, the courage to make tough decisions and the compassion to listen to the needs of others; and we can proudly assert that our newly elected batch has perceived this well and is an epitome of confidence, courage and compassion. In the end ‘Vote of Thanks’ was proposed by Mr. Devesh Rawat. The ceremony drew to a close with the National Anthem. The new leaders promised to be empathetic, respectful, and responsible in every way and faithfully discharge the duties of the office. We have full confidence in them and look forward to an eventful academic year full of innovative activities and exemplary unity. A wise man once said, “Happiness can be found, even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.” So, we look forward to the Students Council 2022 to turn on the light……
