Krishna, the divine teacher of the universe, is always here with us to guide us to lead our life with clarity, joy, confidence and hope. Let the day of Krishna Janmashtami ignite benevolent spirits in our lives and dispel the darkness of ignorance. To seek the blessings of Lord Krishna, Janmashtami was celebrated at DPS-JC on 18th August, 2022 with joy and mirth. The fragrance of flowers, soothing aromas of camphor and the jingle of bells mesmerised the environment. While this religious importance is not lost, this day signifies a lot more to modern India, it signifies excitement, euphoria and a joyous spirit of enthrallment. To celebrate the extraordinary bond between children and the Almighty, DPS-JC took the opportunity to both jubilate and learn with the young minds. The students dressed up as lord Krishna and Radha, bedocked with flutes, peacock feathers and earthen pitchers. The mothers also dressed themselves up beautifully as Devakis and Yashodas. The celebration that followed was truly entertaining and educating one. The Chief Guest for this event was our honorable Patron Ma’am Smt. Meena Devi Dewangan. The celebration was started with lamp lighting and pooja, which was performed by our Chief Guest and other dignitaries. It was celebrated with great enthusiasm, pomp and show by the students of class II to V. The purpose of the flamboyant celebration was to inculcate values of sharing and caring for others, in the students. On this occasion our Head Mistress, Mrs. Smarita Das delivered a warming welcome speech. Some parts of the life history of Lord Krishna were very beautifully depicted by the students in the form of a dance sequence. The mothers had a gala time while participating in ramp walk and different activities. The main attraction of the event was breaking of the treasure filled earthen pitchers. The Chief Guest of the event blessed all the students on this auspicious day and gave them the message as always, looking ahead instead of reminiscing in the past. The program was successfully anchored by Mrs. Sabina Khan and Ms. Pooja Panika and it was ended up with a vote of thanks proposed by Mrs. Snehil Chauhan.
